I've always felt like it was just a normal pulled pork or brisket sandwich, and Gleason just pretended it was hot. I know another RUclipsr said he found out through an inside connection that they made them in the movie catering truck for the scene.

I get the biggest kick out of just listening to their stories. Magnificent people!!!!!!!!OOOrrrahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Semper Fi.

Not even close to making good refried beans... For starters you want to add onion, jalapeno, seasoning when you start cooking the beans and you should cook them down over 8 hours to where they almost look refried. Then you can tweek it for taste. What is gonna make them great is bacon grease or beef tallow or both and Knorr chicken bullion powder to refry them. You put those two in you're gonna have magic. Those aren't refried beans but water, thicken them up for real, geez

Does pickled meat rot? The only pickled meat i can think of is pickled pigs feet, which you can find in the grocery store, but im guessing pigs feet doesn't have a lot of muscle.

I'm new to Maxpedition and stumbled across your video while researching if there were any accessories for the foilage orange color. Seems they discontued this color. I immediately thought of the movie Forrest Gump seconds into the review lol. Not sure if that's what you were going for but I was expecting you to say somewhere along the lines of "an EDC bag is like a box of chocolates....." Eleven years later are you still using the bag?

I made this. I did not see the point of adding the butter, as the 80/20 ground beef I used supplied all the grease needed to replicate the original. I used that same brand of TVP. I used oat flour instead of oatmeal, as persons I know who had worked there back in the late 70's and early 80's said that is what was used. The texture came out perfect. The aroma and taste were quite bland. I wound up adding some taco seasoning to get it to the point of where I thought it was sufficiently replicated to the Taco Tico taste. All that was missing was the Taco Tico sauces, particularly their hot sauce. Thank you for posting this.
